Year 3/4 went on a shape hunt today around our school grounds. We were able to find lots of circles, squares and rectangles but not so many triangles, hexagons and pentagons!!!
We were amazed at how many shapes are actually in our environment and we don’t really notice until we are looking for them! ๐Ÿ”ดโ–ช๏ธ๐Ÿ”บ

We improved this by changing the design of the base. The children decided they would like to try this again next week to see if this improves their structures.

Today we talked about the changes in our environment during Autumn. The boys and girls painted an Autumn tree using their arm and hand to draw the outline.  I think you will agree that they have turned out to be very effective! Well done everyone ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚

We have been using apples to weigh and paint. We talked about which side of the scales was the heaviest and the lightest. The children then tried to balance the scales evenly which was tricky because the apples were all different sizes. We used apples to print autumn colours and we made chalk autumn trees with the leaves falling onto the ground. What a busy week!
