Latest News - Year 6/7
Well done to all the boys and girls for taking part in the egg decorating competition and congratulations to all the winners.
We were very pleased to host a Kids’ Court here in Artigarvan Primary School & Community Nursery. As many of you know, the busy road outside our school continues to be a concern for everyone.
Seven of our Year 7 pupils were chosen to take part in this special project. It was a wonderful opportunity for them, especially as they begin preparing for their move to secondary school and will soon have more responsibility for travelling to and from school.
We are extremely proud of how well the children represented Artigarvan Primary School. They were enthusiastic, eager to get involved, and keen to help raise awareness about road safety—especially the dangers of speeding near a school.
Take a look at some of the media coverage below and please do pass on the message to others- slow down, our children matter!

As it is World Maths Day on 25th March, Year 6/7 along with their teacher, Mrs Doherty (our Maths Coordinator) organised a MathsFest for the other classes in our school. Year 6/7 set up stations in our assembly hall with a different maths activity at each one. We are incredibly proud of our Year 6/7 pupils and how they adapted the activity to suit each age group. The pupils from each class spent five minutes at each station and each activity gave the children opportunities to experience a wide range of activities to foster problem-solving, mental calculation and logical thinking skills. Most importantly the children had the opportunity to see that maths is fun!
Tommie was one of the winners who won a voucher for Lifford Cinema, after entering the competition at Strabane Academy’s Open Night! Thank you Mrs Dunn for delivering his prize. Well done Tommie!
P6/7 had lots of fun and learning today in Foyle Arena at Maths Fest 26.
Well done to our P7 pupils, Arthur, Jack, Russell and Tommie, who took part in the Road Safe NI quiz today at the Guildhall. There was some tough questions this year and the boys tried their very best. We are so proud of you!
The boys and girls who reached their AR target were treated with a trip to the shop today. Well done everyone for a great term of reading 📖
