What a busy half term it has been! Well done boys and girls on all your hard work to date. I was amazed and a little bit frightened by some of your costumes today 😱🎃 👻 😂
Well done to Lily on her pumpkin design. We had so much fun decorating it together in class.

We have enjoyed learning about items related to the Hymn 'All things bright and beautiful' in September and October.

Colour played a major part and we enjoyed painting our colour wheels and studying the Rainbow Fish book.

We especially liked our Autumn Walk around the school grounds looking at the changing colours.

What a lovely ending to our school year! Have a look at our photos and videos to see what we got up to on our Colour Run. Each class bubble had a turn to go to the pitch and Ronan got everyone warmed up with some Zumba. Next it was time to get colourful as our lovely white t-shirts got covered in coloured powder. Our time at the pitch was finished off by making a colour cloud. Well done boys and girls on making this such a success and a huge thank you for the amazing amount of money you and your families have raised for our school-you are all superstars!!

Here’s a little update from our greenhouse and planter:

The weeds have been cleared and our sunflower seeds that we planted are coming along nicely (see the attached pictures).

We also planted some onions and spread some more wildflower seeds kindly gifted by the council. Families can call into the reception of the council offices and pick up their free pack of wildflower seeds (while stocks last). Thank you so much to the council for our seeds.

In class Mrs Pollock read a lovely story about sunflowers 🌻 and told all the boys and girls about a famous sunflower painting by Vincent Van Gogh. The boys and girls then designed their own sunflower pictures using chalk based on the work of Van Gogh.

This morning Year 2/3 got their green fingers out as they made wildflower seed bombs. Each group had a tray of soil which they mixed with some grit, this made some very messy hands but in the words of Finn “this is so relaxing” and a lot of fun was had. The children loved mixing in the seeds and the water together then we took our trays outside to put our seed bombs out on the grass through the fence. We can’t wait to see if they grow.

Well done to all of the boys and girls for their hard work making their wonderful egg creations.  They were all fantastic but we had to choose some winners in each class. Samantha and Cherry from the kitchen had the very difficult job of choosing a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class.

Well done to everyone for taking part.

Happy Easter :)

Year 2/3 were very busy this week creating their egg masterpieces. We also loved having a look around the hall at all the other egg creations. Have a look at our photos and see if you can find your child’s egg.
