Today we had our first session of Families Connect with some of our year 1 parents. This week’s theme was play and we talked about the importance of play and the benefits that it has for our children. We discussed how it is important to try and make time to play with our children even if it is only a 10min slot. Play is the most crucial part of a young child’s early development. Well done to all of our families who took part today and we look forward to meeting again next week to talk about our feelings.
The boys and girls in Year 3/4 had great fun on Pancake Tuesday making pancakes and deciding what toppings to choose. They had to write instructions on how to make pancakes…Can you remember all the steps involved to making tasty pancakes??? 🥞
We all had a go at trying to toss and catch a pancake in the pan. It was such good fun and we have some very clever boys and girls who were able to throw it up and catch it.
Well done everyone 😁
Today we had so much fun making and eating pancakes. We have some children with allergies in our class so we used a vegan recipe that has no eggs and we used oat milk. The children thought the pancakes were really tasty. They were allowed to have honey, syrup, jam or butter on top.
What a super morning and even Mrs Preston and Judith enjoyed a pancake too. 🥞🥞

This week we have been looking at the different letters in our name. A lot of children are able to recognise their own name and some can make an attempt at writing it by themselves. This activity helped to develop our hand eye co-ordination and fine motor skills as we used finger painting on each letter. We had lots of fun doing this!
A big thank you to the nursery boys and girls who very kindly helped to clear out our sand pit and dig up all the weeds. We have a very kind parent who volunteered to do it but unfortunately due to circumstances he wasn’t able to help so we gathered up our spades and rakes and got to work. What a good job boys and girls! We can now have lots of fun in the sand pit.
We would like to thank the McCrea family for donating a creamery can for our 50th Birthday this year. We were so delighted this week when the we got to see the finished product-it is such a lovely keepsake for our school.
We have lots of lovely activities planned for next week as it is World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March. Remember on Thursday of next week children can come to school dressed as a character from a book or wear their pyjamas.
