Yesterday our class had visitors from the Loughs Agency. They taught us all about migration. We learned the reasons why Salmon migrate. We learned about the threats they encounter and we learned all about the epic journey they undertake. We played a game a bit like snakes and ladders at the end but it was all about water and salmon.

Our eggs have all hatched now and turned into little fry. The visitors from the loughs Agency took them away to the next stage of their journey. We were all sad to see them go! Have a look at them in our photographs.

Artigarvan Primary School and Community Nursery rocked their odd socks for World Down Syndrome Day 2023. The date for World Down Syndrome Day is the 21st day of the third month to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome. This year the theme of World Down Syndrome Day is ‘With us not for us’. Thank you to everyone who sent in donations for Foyle Down Syndrome Trust and thank you to everyone for wearing their odd socks as we raise awareness of Down Syndrome.
