Our budding artists 🎨

Year 3 have been studying the work of Picasso on a Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Kane. They have recreated a piece of Picasso's work using oil pastels. Their next challenge is to create a self-portrait in the style of Picasso, choosing shapes and colours similar to those in his works. The children were so proud of their creations and are so keen to experiment with different media as the term progresses.

Happy Retirement Mrs Pollock
27th Jun 2025

This week we have celebrated with Mrs Pollock who has been teaching in our school for 36 years. We had an assembly where each class played a part in wishing Mrs Pollock all the best on her retirement followed by a tea party for staff to send our best wishes for the next chapter. Thank you Mrs Pollock for all your hard work and dedication. Enjoy every minute of your retirement from everyone at Artigarvan Primary School and Community Nursery. 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
🏆 Prize Winner 🏆

Well done to all the boys and girls in P6/7 who took part in the drowning prevention week poster competition from Riversdale Leisure Centre. Congratulations to our winner Sarah who won an inflatable session for her class. The pupils are excited for this session on Thursday. Thank you so much Barry and everyone at Riversdale Leisure Centre. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Green Flag Awards
13th Jun 2025
Four members of our Eco Committee travelled to The Playtrail with Mrs Pollock for a beautiful outdoor awards ceremony with Eco Schools NI. Artigarvan Primary School was delighted to receive their fifth green flag award. It was great to see so many local schools all doing their part for the environment and all their efforts being recognised. Well done everyone! 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Football success
13th Jun 2025

Well done to both the boys and girls in each team. We travelled to Castlederg High School to take part in the annual Killen Primary School tournament. After a tough few games both teams quailified for the next round. They played and won each game after that and both teams became champions. Well done to everyone involved 🏆
