On 13th March we had a special occasion to attend, a wedding! Rev. Russell met us at the church as we arrived in our extraordinary outfits, but whose wedding were we attending? We walked down the aisle and sat in a pew where we waited patiently for the bride and groom to arrive, and so they did, along with the bridesmaid and best man, of course! Rev. Russell told us all about a wedding ceremony, our newlyweds even exchanged rings, said vows to each other and gave a friendly high-five to mark the end of the ceremony and the beginning of their (pretend) marriage. Rev. Russell even had music for the bride to walk down the aisle to, accompanied by her bridesmaid, he even had a special song which was played at Mrs Kane's wedding! The children had some fantastic questions ranging from, 'why do you exchange rings?', 'why do you change names?', 'why do you get married in a church?'. Our bride had a little last minute panic that her name had suddenly changed but we reassured her that this was only a practice!
I had hoped to share these photos with you at our class assembly, I thought you would love to have a look through our special day which the children thoroughly enjoyed. A huge thank you to Rev. Russell for all of his help and for enabling this learning experience for our children!

For Pancake Tuesday Laura made us homemade pancakes in school! We then chose which toppings to add to our pancakes. Take a look at our delicious pancakes!
During P.E we have been busy learning numbers and colours. We used Numicon to match numerals to the shapes and then we matched colours using coloured objects. It was a competition between two teams, we had to work together and make sure we were paying attention so that we didn't miss our turn.
Today we enjoyed some delicious treats baked by Laura and Sandra. We had a choice of pancakes, cupcakes or scones and the money we used to buy our snack will be donated to our sponsor child Olbirat.
We have been extremely busy in Year 1 & 2, learning colours, numbers and even sounds! Stories have been a huge part of our learning, we have read all about the Creation story, Noah's Ark, Anna's amazing multi-coloured glasses, Elmer and Owl Babies. Take a look at some of our learning activities and play.
Every Monday just after lunch Year 2 and 3 enjoy a Musical Pathways Session. We have been singing songs, learning about rhythm and pitch and playing percussion instruments to discover what noise they make and how we can change the sound.
Year 7 joined with their Year 1 buddies today to make chocolate apples! We had great fun!
A number of children have been working on progressing their phonics and reading skills through Headsprout, an online reading programme. Gerry, the headsprout leader has commented on the fantastic progress made by all of the children. The children were congratulated in assembly and presented with a certificate and a prize. Well done everyone!
