This week the pupils in Mr. Campbell’s class, were learning about floating and sinking as part of their topic work. We predicted if an item would float or sink. Some of the items sank and some of them floated. The last item we used was an orange, but it was very unusual as it floated with its peel still on but sank when it was peeled. Do you know why?
Our artwork is inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser who was an Austrian artist and architect who loved bright colours, spirals, and nature, while hating straight lines and boring, grey buildings. He believed buildings should have trees growing on roofs, wavy floors, and no two windows should be the same. I think the boys and girls in Y5/6 fully understood the task and took great inspiration from this amazing artist!

We had the most wonderful visit from The Ulster Orchestra this morning! It was such an informative session about the different families within the orchestra and Nigel, Cillian, Ralph and Helen played their stringed instruments to some popular tunes from well known movies. We loved our morning finding out all about different instruments, how they make sound and some children got involved in making music with the musicians. A super morning! Thank you for coming to our school.
We had great fun in our class today making pancakes. We used 8 different ingredients to make our pancakes. They were delicious. We used lots of yummy toppings to make our pancakes even tastier !
