This week our school is taking part in the Sustran’s initiative ‘Wheel to School Week.’ Today the nursery boys and girls were allowed to bring their bikes or scooters to school.  We got the chance to ride around the playground in the main school and what a special treat for the boys and girls.  They absolutely loved it and had so much fun.  Well done everyone for taking part today and don’t forget to keep scooting/riding to school every day this week. πŸ‘

On Monday, Kathleen and Jo Jingles came to Nursery.  We had fun singing lots of familiar songs and it linked very well to our new topic, Nursery Rhyme Time. We can’t wait for the next session next Monday.

Most of the boys and girls have now received a certificate for zipping up their coat independently.  Super work boys and girls! Now your grownup won’t have to help you to do this job. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Today we all brought in our favourite books from home.  Mrs Preston gave us 10 minutes to look through our books and share them with our friends. We loved swapping and reading each other’s books for a short time too. Spending time reading and looking at books is so important and such a fun thing to do. πŸ“š

Today was a really fun day as we all came dressed as our favourite book character or wearing our pyjamas. I wonder can you guess who is dressed up as what character? πŸ€”

What a fantastic effort that was made by our children, staff and parents today for World Book Day.  The children were allowed to wear pyjamas or a book character costume and the effort put in was amazing.

Well done to each of you. 😁

Today was an exciting day in Nursery.  Amelda from Debutots came and did some storytelling with us.  We helped and joined in to tell a mashup Fairytale story.  Why don’t you ask the boys and girls to tell you who was in our story? We did lots of actions and sounds to represent different parts of the story. It was lots of fun and we finished off by catching lots of bubbles.
What a fun morning! πŸ“š

We all had a go at trying to toss and catch a pancake in the pan. It was such good fun and we have some very clever boys and girls who were able to throw it up and catch it.

Well done everyone 😁

Today we had so much fun making and eating pancakes. We have some children with allergies in our class so we used a vegan recipe that has no eggs and we used oat milk. The children thought the pancakes were really tasty. They were allowed to have honey, syrup, jam or butter on top.
What a super morning and even Mrs Preston and Judith enjoyed a pancake too. πŸ₯žπŸ₯ž

This week we have been looking at the different letters in our name.  A lot of children are able to recognise their own name and some can make an attempt at writing it by themselves. This activity helped to develop our hand eye co-ordination and fine motor skills as we used finger painting on each letter. We had lots of fun doing this!
