On Tuesday we talked about the importance of making sure an adult watches and monitors the apps that we use on our ipad/ tablets. We enjoyed playing on our class ipad and linked it up to our interactive whiteboard for everyone to take part.
Last week Jack Frost spent a few days with us in Artigarvan. It was only fair that we were able to go outside and have some fun, both the little people and the big people enjoyed it!!
Our choir treated us to a few songs in our last assembly before end of term. They have been singing their little hearts out and spreading the Christmas cheer. They have been out and about as well, visiting Melmount Manor, Mums & Tots and the Tuesday Club. Well done, we are extremely proud. 😇😊
Well done to all our wonderful designers, Liz had an extremely difficult job judging.
We have had lots of fun in Nursery before our Halloween holidays. Don't get too scared when you look at all our spooky costumes!!!!
On Wednesday the nursery boys and girls went on an Autumn walk around our school grounds. They enjoyed looking at all the different trees and they were able to find trees that had very little leaves left. We looked at all the different shapes, sizes and colours of the leaves and we brought 2 full bags back to use in nursery during our play. We had our wellies on and had so much fun walking and swishing through all the crunchy leaves.
Well done to all the children who participated in Sports Day. As always, competitors were strong resulting in a few trophy ties! We are extremely proud of everyone who took part and perservered to reach the finish line in the races.
We are so fortunate to have had a visit in school from an award-winning author, Stuart Reid. He shared snippets from his latest series of books- 'The Gorgeous George' series. The parts that he shared with us were hilarious, they also included alliteration which has inspired some of the children to include this in their writing more often. Stuart shared stories behind the inspiration for his writing, including a story about a panda from Edinburgh Zoo, these were shared to us with hilarious video clips as Stuart read poems and storied from his books.
Have a look at his website below for more information about his books and writing.
This week the Nursery children have commenced their induction programme. They are very excited about starting P1 in September. This can be a very daunting experience for both the children and their parents so this year we have devised a new programme. We hope it makes the transition in September a little easier for all. Here was the first step: our visit to the canteen for lunch. It was very successful and the children really enjoyed it.
