Well done to our Nursery class and Mrs Kane's class who all participated in the Jo Jingles sessions. As always, the children all enjoyed these sessions and behaved beautifully, always remembering their manners and singing loud and clear!
The boys and girls in Nursery were treated to a visit from a local PSNI Road Safety Officer. Stuart talked to the children about how to stay safe when crossing the road, staying safe in the car and staying safe when cycling their bike. He showed us all the different things he has to wear on his belt and we had a look at his uniform. We were very lucky to get to sit in the Police car and see the flashing lights along with the noisy sirens. Thank you to Stuart for taking the time to talk to the children. His message to the children was: ‘The PSNI are always here to keep you safe.’
We were treated to a nursery rhyme today in assembly by our little nursery experts! A lovely way to end the week.
Today was the last session that we had with Melissa from Jo Jingles. We have had lots of good fun over the past 6 weeks learning lots of new songs and using lots of different instruments. Thank you Melissa and Jo!
Congratulations to all our egg hunt winners. Everyone had great fun searching for the eggs, all well hidden by our enterprise helpers! There was a little treat inside each egg for every child and one egg contained the winning golden Jewel for a prize!
Winners were as follows:
Nursery - Nathan
P1/2 - Sophie N
P2/3 - Ross
P3/4 - Destiny
P4/5 - Sarah
P6/7 - Lauren
Last week the nursery children were very lucky. The Enterprise Team work very hard throughout the year and use their money to resource the different classes. Last week the girls presented a range of different wooden toys to the Nursery children and we are very thankful. We will get lots of fun building the different vehicles.
Thank You
We had a visit today from Mr Jim McCool who performed his interactive Celtic Yarn-Spinning show.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Last week our school participated in the Feet First Families Week. Each day a specific class were given the option if they wanted to walk/cycle to school from the local Presbyterian Church. On Friday it was the Nursery boy's and girl's turn and we had a fantastic turn out. During our Nursery day, we were able to go out to the playground and show off our skills on our bikes and scooters. Well done to everyone who participated last week.
On Thursday 1st March, the children were asked to come to school wearing their pyjamas or a onesie for World Book Day. Each child brought in one of their favourite books from home and were given the opportunity to share with the rest of the class what part of the story was their favourite. All the children really enjoyed taking part and we were all very cosy in our pyjamas.
Check out our latest half term disco photographs. Another successful P.T.A organised event. Thanks to everyone involved and to parents for your continued support.
