This week we had an Autumn theme. Most children chose to build trees with branches and pumpkin patches. Some of the trees were not structurally stable as they fell over easily. We improved this by changing the design of the base. The children decided they would like to try this again next week to see if this improves their structures.
On Tuesday afternoons the Year 3 children come together with Mrs Kane. This term we are working together to create things using LEGO. On week 1 we made our own creations, week 2 we made Road safety themed scenes and on week 3 we made things based on Year 2/3 topic 'Let's sparkle'.
Take a look at what we've made!
Today 53 children from nursery and P1/2 went on our class trip to The Playshed. The first excitement was when they realised they were going on a double decker bus. π Firstly we got them all buckled in safely and ready for the road.
At The Playshed, we had lots of fun running around the soft play area. Even the adults had some fun too ππ. We then had some sausages/goujons and chips along with ice cream for dessert. π¦
We had time for some more play in the soft play frames before it was time to get on the bus and return to school. π
The children behaved exceptionally well and each of them had a very happy face all morning. Well done boys and girls on a super class trip! π
We had a super day today for World Book Day. All of the boys and girls and staff made a fantastic effort with their costumes. We had lots of wonderful characters from famous books. We also watched and listened to the story called “where’s Spot?” This story included Makaton signs and was read by one of the ladies from Singing Hands on YouTube.
We really enjoyed this and afterwards Mrs Preston read us one of her favourite stories, ‘The Hungry Caterpillar.’
we had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day today!!! πππ
Today family and friends of Lucy and Calum along with Brighter Ballymagorry Development Group visitied nursery to present a cheque for £1900. The money is to be used for the enhancement of Calum and Lucy's education at Artigarvan Primary School and Community Nursery. The money was raised through a charity walk on New Year's Day. We are so grateful to Brighter Ballymagorry Development Group for organising the walk and raising this amazing amount of money. Thank you so much.
We all had so much fun playing outside today in the snow!
Today the nursery children had lots of fun dunking for apples and we also had a mini disco dancing to some music! The boys and girls looked fabulous in all of their costumes! π·π§π»βοΈπ»
Happy Halloween boys and girls and see you after your half term holidays.
During the month of June we have started our transition programme for the nursery children who are moving into P1 in our school in September. The boys and girls have been for a few visits to experience the different sections of a typical day in P1. This includes, morning break, outside play in the playground and for a school dinner.
They have coped exceptionally well with all of these transitions and we are very proud of them. Here are a few photos of them having a great time in P1 with Mr Henderson and Anne. π
Today was a very exciting day in Nursery! We walked down to Artigarvan play park for some fun and a picnic. Mrs Harper brought us down an iced lolly and we were so glad as it was quite warm. Thankfully the weather stayed dry and the boys and girls had so much fun. Sometimes the simple things in life are by far the best!!ππ
The children were so well behaved and most importantly had the best morning together having fun! βοΈβοΈ
